OUR VISION
We believe every person deserves TO LIVE WITH DIGNITY. Financial aid alone can't solve the problems of poverty. More than two billion people around the world lack access to the basics needed for survival. We need to change that. An end to this atrocity is capable when the hearts of those who have access are connected with hearts of those who don't. Effective change is wholeheartedly felt when both hearts have been impacted.

Across Borders was founded by Mark Charles in 2006 as a means to build a bridge between two worlds ...those who were fortunate with those who were not. Through stories and images, it's our HOPE to incite action by connecting the humanity that resides in ALL OF US.
OUR FOUNDER

Mark's work as a humanitarian and photographer began in 1995 when he moved back to South Africa (birthland) with his family. He wanted to shine a light on the inequalities many live with on a daily basis. Change was needed for those who lacked their fundamental and basic human needs.

Liz Govender. ..I come from a background of working in a non - profit organization called Youth for Christ for 37 yrs. we worked with destitute children and youth from underprivileged communities bringing them hope .... My aim with Across Borders is to identify the needs that are around us ..especially in the educational sector. I feel privileged to serve and work with Across Borders
